Why Fjord Office
An education that works in your interest — not ours.
Most financial education in Malaysia is delivered by people who also sell financial products. At Fjord Office, that is not the case. This page explains what that means in practice.

Six things that matter when choosing a financial education provider.
No commission, no referrals
Fjord Office has no financial relationship with any product provider. We do not receive commissions, referral fees, or placement incentives of any kind.
Built for Malaysia
Programmes cover EPF, PRS, unit trusts, and takaful as they actually operate in Malaysia — not as analogies for products in other markets.
Written outcomes
Every programme produces written documentation — a completed template, working notes, or a multi-year plan — so you have something to refer back to.
Small, quiet settings
Group workshops are capped in size. The household engagement is entirely one-on-one. Neither format involves persuasion, selling, or performance.
Paced for reflection
Sessions are spaced to allow thinking between them. The goal is understanding that holds — not conclusions reached under time pressure.
Transparent pricing
All three programme fees are listed clearly on this site. There are no consultation fees, upsells, or recurring charges after a programme ends.
In Depth
Practical knowledge, honestly delivered
Fjord Office was built by someone who had spent years inside the financial services industry and found that the gap between what clients understood and what they had signed up for was consistently large. The programmes here are a response to that observation.
The content is maintained annually and reviewed against current Malaysian regulatory frameworks. It is written for people who are thoughtful, not for people who are technically trained.
A structured process, not an open conversation
Each programme has a defined scope and a defined output. The yearly review workshop follows a seven-page template. The fees programme covers three sessions in a set sequence. The household engagement follows a four-step process that ends with a written plan.
Structure matters because it reduces the risk of important areas being skipped. It also means you know, before enrolling, exactly what the programme will cover and what you will leave with.
Questions are part of the design
In most financial education settings — seminars, webinars, videos — questions from participants are an afterthought. At Fjord Office, they are built into the available time. Small group sizes and one-on-one formats exist specifically so there is room to pause and ask.
If a question takes a session in a slightly different direction, that is usually worth more than keeping to a rigid script.
Fees that reflect the programme — nothing more
The three programmes are priced at RM 490, RM 1,380, and RM 4,250 respectively. These fees cover the full programme — sessions, materials, and written outputs. There are no continuation charges, subscription models, or advisory retainers attached to any of them.
The programmes are not cheap in absolute terms. They are priced to reflect the time and preparation involved in running them well.
The outcome is understanding, not a decision
Fjord Office programmes do not end with a recommendation to buy, sell, or switch anything. The measure of a good programme is whether participants finish it with a clearer picture of their own financial situation — and the confidence to continue thinking about it on their own.
Some participants do make changes after completing a programme. Others simply feel steadier about what they already have. Both are valid outcomes.
Comparison
How this differs from typical financial education.
This is not a criticism of other approaches — it is simply a description of how the typical experience differs from what Fjord Office provides.

Distinctive Features
What you will not find anywhere else in Penang.
A twice-yearly review habit you can sustain
The Simple Yearly Review Workshop is designed to be repeated. The same template, revisited each year, becomes a personal financial record over time. No other local provider structures their workshop around ongoing self-use of a document you create yourself.
A full three sessions on a single subject: fees
Very few providers in Malaysia spend concentrated time helping investors understand how fees compound across long horizons. The Understanding Investment Fees programme devotes three sessions entirely to this question — using real Malaysian products and real SC disclosure documents.
A plan that includes your household's actual numbers
The Multi-Year Household Plan engagement produces a document that uses the household's real figures — not hypothetical scenarios or generic illustrations. The plan is built with you, read line by line with you, and yours to keep and revise.
